Our council activities begin in January with a Youth Free Throw Competition, our traditional Easter Egg hunt in early spring, followed later by a Tootsie Roll fund raiser, a Summer Cookout and to close the year we march in the Haverhill Parade under the banner of Council 5004. Throughout the year we contribute to local charities and look for opportunities to assist children in need.
Christ the King Council was founded in 1960 by a group of Catholic gentlemen from Haverhill. We were founded in November, the month of the feast of Christ the King. Our Grand Knight is Tom Foley. Our Council is affiliated with the Sacred Hearts Parish of Bradford and Groveland and the Holy Reedemer Parish of West Newbury and Merrimac. These parishes are comprised of the Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford, Saint Patrick's Church in Groveland, St. Ann's Church in West Newbury and Holy Redeemer in Merrimac. Our membership is not limited to only these Parish communities, all we require for membership is that you are a practicing Catholic gentleman. Our mission is to maintain close ties with the Parish community, perform service and bring life to Christ's words through our actions. We strive to help our parishes both financially and through service. Our membership is strong but, we are always looking for new members with fresh ideas. The work is hard but many hands lighten our load. You can contact the Knights by phone at (978) 373-1281, or by email at info@christthekingcouncil.org
